The Gaggia MDF is primarily designed as an espresso grinder. It has a doser system, which can dispense approximately 7 grams of coffee directly into your portafilter, with the pull of a level.
However, the MDF is much more than just an espresso grinder. It has 34 different grind settings, capable of producing a range from a fine powder for Turkish style coffee to coarse particles for a 4 minute steep in a cafetiere.
The MDF grinder is fitted with commercial grade 50mm flat burr grinding discs, which give a consistent and even grind. The discs are ceramic rather than steel so stay sharper for much longer. They're driven by a heavy duty 100 watt motor, fitted with a gear reduction system. This gives the burrs more torque for grinding so they can rotate at much slower speeds. The advantage of this is that they produce less heat and static.
This grinder is attractive enough to look at home on any kitchen worktop. With its robust design and predominantly metal bodywork, it will give you many years of loyal service.
